Hudson only smiled, leaving the rest to the man’s imagination. “As long as there’s meat in the burger and salt on the fries, I’m happy.”
Micky pulled into the drive-thru and ordered two meals. Once they had their food, they pulled into one of the parking spaces and unpacked everything and began to eat.
Hudson had to admit that it was somewhat of an unconventional date, but it was he who had suggested a burger, so he wasn’t about to complain. Besides, the pretentious bullshit that went along with modern dates, like coffee bars and fancy restaurants, irritated him to no end. The point to a first date was to see if you got on well enough to move to a second date, and then possibly onto a real relationship. It wasn’t about showing off. His gaze flitted to Micky’s crotch in his tight pants.
Okay, so some of it is about showing off.
And Micky was certainly showing. Hudson was pretty well endowed himself, and Micky seemed to match him. He felt his own cock begin to engorge in his pants and he shifted his attention to Micky’s face. He flushed as he realized Micky had been watching him.
“Sorry,” Hudson said, clearing his throat out of sheer awkwardness. “It’s been a while since my last date. I guess I’m forgetting all the rules.”
Micky smirked, though he was clearly nervous too. “You can look all you want. Hell, touch it if you like.”
Hudson chuckled. “If I do that, I might not be able to stop myself.”
“That a fact?”
Micky glanced around outside the car, then reached down and unfastened the zipper of his pants. He slid them down a little way on his hips, revealing dark blue boxer shorts. He hooked a thumb under the waistband and pulled them down, too, and Hudson got a look at his first cock in years.
He reached over and gripped the stiffening shaft, and Micky let out a short breath, again looking around in case someone was watching.
“Let them watch,” Hudson said, his voice low.
Micky stiffened for a moment as Hudson began to stroke him but quickly relaxed and let his eyes fall half-closed as Hudson worked.
“You’re big,” he commented as he rubbed his thumb over Micky’s engorged cockhead.
“Thanks,” Micky muttered, his eyes still slits. “What about you?”
Hudson took Micky’s hand and placed it on his lap. Micky took in a sharp breath as he squeezed Hudson’s thickening cock.
“Fuck. That’s…” He glanced down at his hand and then swallowed. “Fuck.”
Hudson nodded. “Say please, and maybe I’ll let you see it.”
The man grinned in return, and Hudson was happy to find the man wasn’t bothered by the little bit of play he’d introduced. It wasn’t necessary for him to enjoy things, but he liked to be in control during sex, and it heightened the experience for him.
“Please,” Micky said, drawing out the e sound. “Please show me your big, thick cock.”
Hudson growled softly as the words brought his animal side a little closer. He should have expected it, given how long it had been since he’d last fooled around with a guy, but the sound still caught him by surprise. In Micky’s case, it seemed to further excite him.
Hudson took his hand from Micky’s cock and worked his own pants open, sliding them down a little way. He hadn’t bothered to wear underwear, since it would have just been one more thing to remove before shifting last night.
“What do you think?” Hudson asked as he pulled his cock free.
Micky reached over and wrapped his hand around Hudson’s shaft. Unlike Micky, he was uncut, and Micky pulled the foreskin down, revealing the thick head.
“Beautiful,” Micky said.
As one, the pair began to stroke each other. They started slow, and despite Hudson’s earlier comment he kept his senses on alert, in case someone did happen to walk past. They were in a darkened spot in the parking lot, so the chances of being noticed were slim, and the only sounds were the nearby traffic and their own breath.
Stiff at first, Hudson soon began to loosen up and enjoy himself. It had been a long time, and he’d stopped for a reason, but at that moment in time he didn’t give a damn. Micky certainly didn’t seem to be complaining, either.
They built in speed slowly, still mirroring each other in their movements. Micky was certainly no beginner at such things, and soon had Hudson picturing a variety of dull things to hold back the inevitable. It didn’t help that his animal side was practically howling for more. He wanted to push the man’s head down onto his cock, to fuck his mouth until Micky gasped for air, then flip him around and teach that round ass a lesson it wouldn’t forget. This is far enough for now.
Soon enough, Micky’s breath became more ragged, and he screwed up his eyes as he apparently tried to hold on for longer.
“I’m gonna come,” he said through a gritted jaw.
“Good.” Hudson sped further on the man’s shaft. “Do it.”
Micky gasped as he reached an orgasm, and thick white cum spurted from his cock in three gouts that covered Hudson’s hand and Micky’s pants. The sight was the last stroke for Hudson, and he grunted as he, too, came, to the same result. Neither stopped stroking, each determined to eke out every last drop before stopping.
After a few more seconds, they were done, and Micky almost collapsed in his seat, a smile on his lips.
“Needed that,” he said after a moment. “Really needed that.”
“You’re telling me,” Hudson said with a chuckle. “And this explains a mystery, too.”
Micky frowned. “Mystery?”
“Sure.” Hudson reached into the junk food bag. “I always wondered why these places gave out so many paper napkins. Now I know.”
“I should have done that with my mouth,” Micky said, waggling his eyebrows.
Hudson smirked. “But then we’d have nothing to do on the next date.”
“Oh, I’m sure we’d think of something.”
He shook his head. “You young ’uns. No patience.”
“Young ’uns?” Micky laughed. “I’m, what, five years younger than you?”
Well, there’s a five in it.
Chapter Five
Once Micky had dropped Hudson off at his place, he drove straight home and threw all his clothes into the washer, then jumped into the shower. He realized his mistake in not waiting for the washer to finish as soon as the ice cold water hit him. Shivering, he decided it would probably do his libido some good and stayed under the stream.
The night had been what he could only describe as “interesting.” Usually when a date started with a terrible movie and fast food, it was a pretty good sign that there wouldn’t be a second date. In this case, it had been pretty damn good. He’d found out that Hudson thought along similar lines to him when it came to movies, which was good for future nights in, and that he loved a burger, much like Micky.
Maybe he was just looking on the bright side. Wasn’t difficult, given how the night ended. He was half-tempted to call Rhys and tell him where his hand had just been, but decided it might be construed as crass.
He leaned against the back wall of the cubicle as the water finally started to warm and closed his eyes as he pictured Hudson’s huge hand on his cock, stroking him. If only they’d been together in the shower instead of a parking lot. Things could have gone much further.
The image of Hudson standing over him, his thick cock slick with lube, popped into Micky’s mind. Hudson lifting Micky’s legs up and pulling him closer to the edge of the bed, then pushing that huge cockhead against his asshole. No doubt the man was an animal in the sack, too. He’d throw Micky around like he was a doll.
“God, I hope so,” he muttered to himself.
His last boyfriend had been a great guy, but when it came to the bedroom he’d been strictly “lights off, one position.” That was fine for most people, but Micky wanted more. He wasn’t afraid to admit he was a bit of a slut. He liked a man who would take control, would push him down and take what he wanted, then cuddle afterwards. With Hudson, Micky h
ad a theory he’d found that.
As long as he called, anyway. A pang of worry had Micky chew on his lip as he washed his hair. What if Hudson hadn’t had a good time after all? That could have been it. No promised second date, no hinted sex, no nothing. Micky had no great issue with being used for sex, but in this case he wanted more.
Once he was out of the shower, he decided to take control of the situation, and before even dressing he jogged down the stairs and picked up the phone. Hudson answered on the first ring, not even giving Micky chance to reconsider the call.
“Hey.” The man’s deep voice sent chills through Micky. “What’s up?”
“I decided to set our second date early. That way I can plan my work around it.”
“Liar,” Hudson said with a short laugh.
“I thought it sounded quite convincing.” Micky grinned. “Okay, so I’m hoping to get my mouth around that cock of yours, and I figure that the sooner I set a date, the better.”
“Well now, I was expecting you to say you were paranoid I wouldn’t call or something. That’s why I was about to call you, after all.”
“Really?” His heart fluttered at the words. “It appears we think alike, Hudson.”
“That we do, Micky. Your turn to choose, I guess.”
“You’re working tomorrow night, right?”
“Yeah, and my boss is getting pretty pissy about me taking time off.”
“That’s okay.” Damn it. “How about the night after, then?”
“I’m free then, yeah. What would you like to do?”
Let you fuck me raw? Micky chewed at his lip again. “You play pool? There’s a great hall near me. It’s a bit of a dive, but the people are friendly.”
“Sounds perfect. Prepare to have your ass kicked.”
Micky laughed. “We’ll see. Have a good night.”
They hung up and Micky dropped onto the sofa with a thump. He had a second date! Confirmed! It was a pity it wouldn’t be the next night, but he could find something to pass the time, he was sure. In fact, Laura had been bugging him about a poker game, so perhaps he could arrange that.
He picked up the phone once more and nearly jumped out of his skin when the front door swung open. He spun to face whoever was trespassing, only to find Laura stood in the doorway, her gaze decidedly south of Micky’s eyes.
“Frigging hell, Micky,” she muttered. “Do you need a license for that fishing rod?”
Micky grabbed a cushion and held it against his crotch, then dashed up the stairs to his bedroom before his blush was noticeable.
“Don’t you ever knock?” he called down as he pulled on a bathrobe.
“When the door’s unlocked?” The voice was much closer than he’d expected. “What’s the point?”
He turned to find her leaned against the doorframe of his bedroom, smirking.
“It’s called privacy,” Micky said. “Stops you walking in on people sitting around naked.”
“I repeat, what’s the point?”
He rolled his eyes and sat on the edge of the bed. Laura joined him and slapped him on the now-covered thigh.
“So, how did the date go?”
“Rough start, great finish.”
Laura arched her eyebrows. “Am I getting any more detail than that?”
“You were, but then you walked into my house while I wasn’t wearing anything.”
“Oh, come on. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.” She grinned. “You’re not that poorly endowed.”
Micky snorted and shoulder bumped her. “I’ll tell you tomorrow night.”
“What happens tomorrow night?”
“That poker game you wanted, assuming everyone’s free.”
“Oh, cool.” Laura jumped up. “I know Rhys and George are, but I’ll have to call Craig and check. Rhys will probably host it. If you forget about the fifty he owes you, he might even buy some beer and pretzels.”
Micky shrugged. “Sure. I’ll be walking from the table with everyone else’s money, anyway.”
“Yeah, right. Your poker face is about as convincing as mine. And mine sucks harder than you at the end of a date.”
He snorted. “We’ll just see, won’t we.”
“And don’t think I’ll forget about you not telling me anything. I’ll be bringing it up during the game so we can all hear about it.”
Micky sighed, but couldn’t say anything about it. If it was the other way around, he’d be one of the people pressing for information.
“So what are you doing here, anyway? You could have called, y’know.”
“Ah, right.” She colored. “You know how my place had a leak in the bathroom.”
“I don’t like where this is going, Laura.”
“It’ll only be for a few days!” She dropped to her knees and held out her hands in a prayer position. “Please! I wouldn’t ask, but right now half my apartment is underwater.”
Micky sighed and held out a hand to pull her up. “Fine, but if Hudson and I come back here one night, you know what to do.”
“Stand by with a selection of lubes and interestingly shaped condoms?”
He shooed her out of his room wordlessly and then followed her downstairs to help her bring her stuff inside. Thankfully she travelled light, as the way the wind whipped around Micky’s robe made him feel like he was sat in an ice bucket. Once everything was inside, he pointed her toward the kitchen and then went to bed, his mind squarely on Hudson.
* * * *
The next morning came early for Hudson since he’d not slept. He didn’t feel like he needed it, so he simply hadn’t bothered. Instead he’d passed the time by finishing the book he’d started, and corresponding with a shifter over in England, where the time was far more acceptable. By the time he’d signed off from the chat, it was past nine and time to get into “day mode.”
His shift started early since he’d agreed to help with some repairs, but he had an hour or so left to kill, so he started with coffee and toast sat in front of the television.
Last night’s date stayed in the front of his mind, as did the upcoming second date, but he tried not to think too hard about it. If he did, he’d get anxious again. He smirked as he sipped his coffee. Every person who met him expected him to be a tough guy, and while he certainly had his moments, he still had all the same worries as everyone else.
Back before he’d become a shifter, and for a while afterwards, he’d been a shy, skinny young man with bad eyesight and a love of poetry. It had taken a good couple of decades before the man he was now started to show through. The change gave him confidence, and the time spent running, fighting, and chasing, had given him the body. Sometimes he still felt like the quiet twenty-something-year-old who collected birds’ eggs.
He thumped his feet onto his coffee table and let out a long breath of contentment. He had a second date with Micky the IT tech. He resolved to spend more time talking this time. There was a lot he’d like to know about the man, and likely Micky had a few questions for him.
That thought set his stomach to gnawing. There was one thing that Hudson couldn’t tell him. At least not so soon. Once Micky knew him better, and once Hudson had tested the water with a few things, he’d think about revealing his true nature.
“No,” he said to himself. “I won’t think about it. I’ll do it.”
He’d tried to simply keep that part of himself closed off entirely in relationships, and while it could extend the time with someone who wouldn’t understand, it only postponed the inevitable, and in some cases made things much worse.
By the time he arrived at the bar, the sun was up, its warmth promising a fair day. Just standing by the back door to the building, breathing in the air, made him wish he’d said no to helping out so he could instead head back to the cabin. Instead he knocked on the door and waited, then hid his disappointment when Clara appeared in the doorway.
“Oh, hey.” Her poker face wasn’t as practiced as Hudson’s. “Didn’t realize it’d be you.”
“I’ll try and stay out of your way,” he said as he pushed past into the storeroom beyond. “What needs doing?”
The door thumped shut behind him and he glanced back, looking for an answer. Eventually she nodded to the short hallway that led to the main room.
“I’m painting in there,” she said. “Some jackass decided to start a fight last night, so there’s a new door needs hanging in here, and a few stools need repairing. There’s a window being delivered, too, but I doubt you can fit that.”
“Sure I can. Spent some time as a glazier.”
“How very talented,” Clara said, with as little interest as possible.
Hudson ignored her and turned his attention to the old doorframe that led out of the storeroom. There hadn’t been a door hung there in years, since the one at the other end of the hall sufficed. No doubt the wood would need some sanding before he’d be able to get the new door in place.
“I’ll get my tools out of the truck. Hold the door for me?”
Clara walked straight past him instead, headed to the bar. “Wedge it with something.”
Hudson just shook his head. “One day I’m going to ask you why you dislike me so much.”
“Can’t wait,” came the sarcasm-soaked reply, followed by the thud of her closing a door between them.
In the end, he did as she suggested and propped the door open with a crate of empty bottles. The day was shaping up nicely, and once Hudson realized that the door wouldn’t fit without a hell of a lot of sanding, he decided working in the parking lot would be preferable. After setting up a couple more crates to serve as a base to put the new door on, he rolled up his sleeves and started work.
There was something about manual labor that Hudson loved. It was freeing. He could let his muscles and tendons do the work and let his mind wander. It made a pleasant change from his usual need for alertness when tending bar. There were no over-the-top drinks to make, no money to handle, and no customers to watch. Just him and the sound of sandpaper on wood.
The Zen-ness lasted for about ten minutes, then his instincts flared, jerking his head up quick. There was another shifter nearby. He took a quick sniff of the air and filtered out the sawdust. They were close by, but he couldn’t see them. Out of habit, his muscles started to tense, ready to leap into action.
